Town of Greene

Town government is run by an elective legislative body, the Town Board. They are responsible for making the present-day decisions. Only in special instances is a vote of the inhabitants of the Town required. When a town board member votes on a proposal before a town board, he or she is representing, through that vote, the views of all of the residents of the town. The Town Board consists of a Supervisor and four Council-persons.
The Town Board meets the second Wednesday of every month at the Town Hall, 51 Genesee Street, Greene, New York, at 7:00 PM. The Public is always “Welcome”!
Town Supervisor: The Supervisor presides over all Town Board Meetings which are held the second Wednesday of every month with all Town Board members. Meetings are open to the public. The Supervisor serves as the Town Budget Officer and Treasurer – as well as serving on the Chenango County Board of Supervisors in Norwich., and on committees designed by Chenango County. Also responsible for all Town of Greene employee hiring and pay scales with Town Board involvement and approval. |
